UNIVERSITY WORK
As a work‑study student at UTRGV, I supported multiple departments and gained hands‑on experience in design, communication, and campus engagement. I worked with UTRGV Marketing & Communications, the Center for Student Involvement’s Family & Cultural Programs, and Student Media, contributing to campus‑life publications and social media. Across these roles, I created designs and promotional content for various campaigns, helping strengthen departmental outreach and support the university’s overall brand presence. We will explore all the projects I worked on for each department.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
I had the opportunity to work as a student designer for the University Marketing and Communications Department. In this role, I contributed to refining existing design assets and developing new marketing materials used across campus. My work ranged from layout adjustments and visual clean‑ups to creating fresh concepts that aligned with the university’s brand standards.

Student media Department
While interning with the UTRGV Student Media Department, I created illustrations for Pulse Magazine, the university’s campus‑life publication. My work supported stories that highlight student experiences, university initiatives, and current news throughout the Rio Grande Valley, contributing visual elements that enhanced the magazine’s storytelling and editorial voice.

Pulse Documentary
In this team Project I served as the video editor role for an interview‑based documentary project, I also tagged along with my interviewer and cinematographer when we were shooting and assisted when needed. The project focused on interviewing four staff members with behind the scenes info about working at pulse, as well as introducing the origin behind the newest magazine issue story, another topic the video covered was advice for future student employees and farewell goodbye from a couple staff members graduating and leaving Pulse.
Family & Cultural work
Assisted with event planning and produced graphic design promotional posters and assets for Center of student Involvement's Family and Cultural programs celebrating nationally recognized cultural holidays to strengthen college student engagement.
hispanic heritage month
Sabor, Cultura, y Arte is a vibrant celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month designed to honor the rich and diverse cultural traditions of the Latinx community. This event invites students to engage in the celebration through arts and crafts, music, and traditional foods. Sabor, Cultura, y Arte allows the opportunity for students to connect to their roots or explore outside of their own culture.
Throughout Sabor, Cultura, y Arte, we look forward to engage students in the cultural richness of Latin music, dance, art and tradition with two interactive activities such as Lotería and creating paintings inspired by historical Latin figures and their work.
Lunar New Year
This Lunar New Year celebration invites participants to explore a variety of Asian cultural traditions associated with the Lunar New Year through art, language, games, attire, and food. The event highlights the diversity of Asian cultures and shared traditions connected to this celebration.
