Romeo and Juliet Love Over War
This project reimagines the timeless tragedy of Romeo and Juliet through a bold science‑fiction lens. Set on a distant, war‑scarred planet, the story follows Juliet—an alien queen destined to lead her people through rising political unrest—and Romeo, a human servant caught between loyalty, rebellion and love . Their unexpected romance sparks in the shadows of a brewing revolution, where interspecies tensions, forbidden love, and the weight of destiny collide.
Opening Scene:
Alien Salvation
The opening scene illustration was created to depict the beginning of Romeo and Juliet. The Illustration I was wanting to convey was how humanity was at a breaking point in a dystopian city. They were living in a grassy terrain wasteland and their last hope for salvation was seen as the sun was rising. They saw an alien spaceship that held a futuristic advanced city. I also include a rusty billboard with a headline that says Romeo and Juliet Love Over War. This sign was meant to be the opening title to add a little bit of written context within the environment in order to engage the viewers into the story.

Garden Scene:
Romance Blooms
This Illustration of The Garden Scene was to illustrate the scene of Romeo & Juliet’s secret meetings. This garden is out of this world but a very romantic environment. I imagined that Romeo would meet Juliet in her guarded garden which consisted of an out of this world terrain with an environment consisting of glowing trees and purple grass. These two love birds would meet before sunrise to look at the garden and stars before the sunrise. I wanted to illustrate how Romeo & Juliet would meet on the small bridge over a pond and gaze into each other’s eyes.
